The Spring Market has arrived.
Posted by Ryan Coffey under: Nanaimo Real Estate Market .
Those of you who check this site regularly may have noticed that I haven’t posted in about a week when I usually post at least twice a week. This is simply because the spring market has arrived here in Nanaimo in the past couple of weeks and I’m suddenly much busier than usual.
What I’m seeing out there are a lot of sales in the 200k to 300k range. I’m also starting to see some houses that have sat on the market for a couple of months be snatched up. The real estate boom may be over in Canada, but the market is far from dead, or even quiet. Sales are still lower this year compared to the same time last year but prices are still rising. Pricing listings competitively is more important this year than in recent years.
Average sale prices in Nanaimo:
April 2008 $373,134
March 2008 $343,324
April 2007 $325,613
These stats are from the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board.
